This was the first semi-turning point for the strip. All the other strips up to this one had basically been one joke affairs and the panels had been very sparsely populated. With this strip we simply had too many ideas and decided to try to push them all into the strip, and we’ve been told by many this is their favorite of our first year. It introduces the female professor and Racer Patrol.
We had our hands full with material that week. Not only was Valentine’s Day, but actor Danny Glover was speaking on campus (which explains the first panel). Many, however, missed his license plate “LTHLWPN.”
