This strip originates from watching a real college football practice in the rain. It didn’t seem safe, but more than that it didn’t seem like much fun. I would have taken an umbrella with me while I ran drills.

COACH T: Now that we got these boys back onto campus, it's time to whip them into shape.
ASSISTANT: But it's raining.
COACH T: A little rain never killed anyone.
ASSISTANT: Ignoring the history of floods, rain does indeed kill during lightning storms.
COACH T: Don't be silly, rain and lightning don't mix. They're like oil and water!
ASSISTANT: I'll get the chalkboard to explain this one.
